Founders See The Invisible

A footballer that sees passes others cannot.

A good actor steals a scene without speaking.

A great coach hears what isn’t being said.

A programme that changes hearts and minds with subtle nudges.

Mastery allows you to see things that aren’t obvious, and to do things that seem trivial but have taken years to perfect.

The Andean Condor is the biggest bird in the world if you consider weight and wind span. It can weigh up to 33 pounds and has a wingspan of 10.5 feet.

In a recent study, scientists found that one bird traveled over 100 miles without flapping its wings once. From the ground, you may wonder how they manage to do what they do. The Condor is a master at seeing the invisible, navigating wind thermals so they soar for miles.

They lay one egg and both parents take 2 years to raise the chick. There is no comfortable nest, just a rocky place amongst the cliffs. It’s not an easy upbringing, but there is support all the way. The pursuit of mastery is not meant to be easy, but it’s also not meant to be impossible, and it really helps if you have support.

The Andean Condors instinctively understand this. On your own journey, do not underestimate the value of a support network.

Mastery allows you to see the invisible, to do things that seem effortless but have taken time, and countless iterations to perfect.

It is a never-ending journey, one that requires constant practice.

And maybe that’s what sets the best founders apart, understanding that they are always students.
